Who I AmI worked in the software industry for many years, using my degree in Information and Computer Science from the University of California, Irvine (UCI - Go Anteaters!). You can read about that stuff over on LinkedIn.
I live in Kirkland, Washington, but grew up in Phoenix, Arizona and Garden Grove, California (in the shadow of Disneyland, even worked there for two summers). My leisure activities include reading, television, movies, photography, cooking, travel and taking my wife out for dinner. I don't pick up my guitar or ukulele as often as I want to. |
What I WriteI started writing fiction by participating in National Novel Writing Month in 2005. I attempted NaNoWriMo every year until 2022 and failed to finish the 50,000 words only four times (a success rate of 78%). I also did ScriptFrenzy the years it was active and kind of liked it. But I knew I wasn't really cut out for the film industry.
I've tried several times to take one of the wads of words emitted during NaNoWriMo and write a usable draft, without success. Now retired from the software grind, I am on a quest to turn one of those stories into something publishable. About half of my stories fall into the category of science fiction. Some are set in an alternate 1960s, where the 20th Century dreams of the Space Age come true. It's my inner twelve-year-old expressing itself. Others are set in a near future where man has to work hard to keep Earthly problems from following him into orbit and beyond. My other stories are more down-to-earth, contemporary mysteries or thrillers set in the Pacific Northwest. |
